Fiction: Out of the Darkness
Out of the darkness a soft mewling sound emerged. “There’s something in the cellar,” I whispered. My husband tried the light switch again. “Damn fuse box,” he muttered. “Be careful,” I urged, as he made his way down the stone stairs, torch in hand. I listened to his footsteps as he moved around the small(…)
Fiction: Shelving My Worries
Today, I bought a shelf. It was not the wisest course of action. I had a meeting in the afternoon so I had to take the shelf with me. It was a corner shelf and the top protruded from out of my smart bag. I wrapped a carrier bag around it but – being a(…)
Come on in, the writing’s lovely – thanks to Coral Russell, Frederick Lee Brooke and others!
So… I don’t talk about being a writer very much, mostly because I consider myself a reader, reviewer and blogger first and foremost. Nonetheless, I do write and even though it’s taken me a decade to put something out there, I released a set of three short stories recently in Double-take Tales. Being in the(…)
Why Fezariu’s Epiphany will always be my favourite book of 2011
I’ve seen the work and effort and commitment that went into Fezariu’s Epiphany and whilst my intimate involvement with the story and its author prevents me from reviewing it objectively, I feel utterly justified in proclaiming my love for it.
When even the Yeti says yes, how can you say no?
We wanted to do something fun to promote Fezariu’s Epiphany this Christmas and to send some cheeky holiday wishes so we got this fun video done courtesy of borzack at Fiverr.

Fiction: Joe’s Homecoming
Dear Sarah Joe arrived home last night after twelve years away. The family were gathered here together to mark his return. I’m sorry you couldn’t be here but I know that flight costs are high for you and the children. It was a remarkable reception. People I hadn’t seen for years turned up. Mark you,(…)
