After two instalments of the Elencheran Chronicles - Fezariu’s Epiphany and A World Apart – and a short story collection - Dark is the Day, Dead is the Night - I am entering the world of non-fiction with the story of the six cats that own(…)

Roll up, roll up, for the Discover Fantasy Tour. Step right this way… I’ve always loved the fantasy genre and I am delighted that it continues to prosper and find new fans every day. When I started writing in 1999 it was an easy decision for me to write fantasy and the likes of Tolkien(…)

Out of the darkness a soft mewling sound emerged. “There’s something in the cellar,” I whispered. My husband tried the light switch again. “Damn fuse box,” he muttered. “Be careful,” I urged, as he made his way down the stone stairs, torch in hand. I listened to his footsteps as he moved around the small(…)
Today, I bought a shelf. It was not the wisest course of action. I had a meeting in the afternoon so I had to take the shelf with me. It was a corner shelf and the top protruded from out of my smart bag. I wrapped a carrier bag around it but – being a(…)
So… I don’t talk about being a writer very much, mostly because I consider myself a reader, reviewer and blogger first and foremost. Nonetheless, I do write and even though it’s taken me a decade to put something out there, I released a set of three short stories recently in Double-take Tales. Being in the(…)
I’ve seen the work and effort and commitment that went into Fezariu’s Epiphany and whilst my intimate involvement with the story and its author prevents me from reviewing it objectively, I feel utterly justified in proclaiming my love for it.
We wanted to do something fun to promote Fezariu’s Epiphany this Christmas and to send some cheeky holiday wishes so we got this fun video done courtesy of borzack at Fiverr.
I’m pleased to say that I’ve released a trio of short stories on Amazon: Double-take Tales. Double-take Tales is priced at just $0.99 for three tales with a twist that will (hopefully!) provide a satisfying read for these dark winter nights.
Around me I begin to see people who have met – or in some cases – exceeded their NaNoWriMo targets. First thing’s first, allow me to say: Good on you!
Facebook, Twitter, blog, website, promotion, marketing, reader interactive, editing, networking, proofing. Oh – nearly forgot! – writing. Just some of the balls an author has to keep up in the air on a regular basis. Thankfully there are free tools available to make life much easier.
Dear Sarah Joe arrived home last night after twelve years away. The family were gathered here together to mark his return. I’m sorry you couldn’t be here but I know that flight costs are high for you and the children. It was a remarkable reception. People I hadn’t seen for years turned up. Mark you,(…)
“Memoirs of a Travelling Tolderian Salesman” was written by a unique individual known as Norman Verne. Who is Norman and where does he come from you might ask…
In January 2011 I sent the Writing Pilgrim out on a worldwide journey in search of ideas and inspiration for stories novels and blogs. I would have liked to make the journey myself but I’m not a rich man and I have a wife and four cats that need me a blog to maintain and(…)
