So… I don’t talk about being a writer very much, mostly because I consider myself a reader, reviewer and blogger first and foremost. Nonetheless, I do write and even though it’s taken me a decade to put something out there, I released a set of three short stories recently in Double-take Tales.

Being in the public arena with my writing, rather than my blogging, has not sat very well with me. In fact, I’ve felt distinctly uncomfortable since the stories were published: almost feeling like a fraud. This week, however, I’ve had two reviews that have made me feel less like I’m sitting on the window-ledge looking in at all the other writers and, instead, being welcomed in and handed a glass of sherry.

I know I have a long way to go but stepping into this welcoming community is a good start. Maybe I’ll finally have the impetus to return to the novella – Harry Schmidt – I started over two years ago.

To see the reviews you can visit Alchemy of Scrawl and Frederick Brooke’s blog.  I’d also like to say thanks to JC Andrijeski, Brenda Wallace, SM Johnson and Anastasia V. Pergakis for their wonderful support and feedback!
